This Privacy Policy explains how CanStart Group Inc. (“CanStart Group”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit startwithcanada.com or contact us through it. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and its fair information principles.

Who we are

This website belongs to CanStart Group Inc., an education company in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Questions about this policy or about your personal information: info@startwithcanada.com.

What we collect

We collect only the information you choose to give us and basic technical data about your visit:

  • Consultation form: your name, email, phone, WhatsApp or Viber number, country, the program you are interested in and your message.
  • Partnership form: the name of your organization, its country and type, the contact person, email, phone and your message.
  • Online payment request: your first and last name, email, the purpose of the payment and the amount. We do not collect or store card numbers on this website.
  • Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, Viber or phone.
  • Technical data: your browser and device type, pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, and cookies, as described below.

If you are a parent or guardian, you may give us information about your child, such as age and the program of interest. We use it only to answer you and arrange the program you choose.

How we use your information

  • To answer your questions and hold the consultation you request.
  • To prepare applications to the schools, colleges, universities or camps you choose, with your consent.
  • To send you a payment link and keep records of payments and invoices.
  • To understand how visitors use this website and to measure our advertising.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for purposes you have not agreed to.

Cookies, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel

This website uses cookies it needs to work. It also uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, and the Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure our advertising and show our ads to people who visited the site. These services set their own cookies and receive data about your visit, such as pages viewed, device and browser information and an online identifier. Google and Meta process this data under their own privacy policies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings. The site keeps working without these cookies.

Who we share it with

  • The school, college, university or camp you apply to, and the separate Custodianship Student Support Agency (custodianship.ca) if you ask for custodianship or homestay, only with your consent.
  • Service providers that work for us: website hosting, email (Google Workspace), analytics (Google) and advertising measurement (Meta), and the payment processor that handles a card payment.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Some of these providers store data outside Canada, for example in the United States. Information stored there is subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above: messages and consultation requests for as long as we work together and for a reasonable period after, and payment and accounting records for the period Canadian tax law requires. Then we delete it or make it anonymous.

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to form submissions and email is limited to the CanStart Group team members who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask for a copy, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw your consent, subject to legal and contractual limits. Write to info@startwithcanada.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
