Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN): Campuses and Opportunities

Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) offers study opportunities across several campuses.

St. John’s Campus

Located in the provincial capital, St. John’s, this campus offers a comprehensive range of academic programs in a modern urban environment. It is the largest campus of the university. It houses the teaching and research facilities of the faculties and schools, as well as the administrative centre of MUN.

Grenfell Campus

Grenfell Campus is located in Corner Brook on the island’s scenic west coast. It specializes in programs in ecology and the arts.

Marine Institute

The Marine Institute, also located in St. John’s, is Canada’s premier fisheries and maritime training centre and one of the largest maritime training institutions in the world.

Signal Hill Campus

This campus focuses on community engagement and innovation. It helps to solve the problems of the 21st century by combining the expertise of students, faculty and university staff with the community of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Labrador Campus

MUN’s newest campus is in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador. It is home to the School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies and the Centre for Northern Boreal Food Systems.

Life in residence

Life in a residence means convenience, a social life and 24/7 safety in a supportive community. It helps you get the most out of your university experience, both academic and social.

There are three residences:

  • Paton College
  • Macpherson College
  • Burton’s Pond Apartments

All of them are a few minutes’ walk from classrooms, laboratories, dining halls, the library and The Works fitness complex. The Signal Hill campus also has 87 rooms for graduate students.
